Notice: Salesforce Sets Fiscal 2030 Revenue Target Above $63 Billion
At its Dreamforce event the software vendor forecast fiscal 2030 revenue of over $63 billion, above analysts' estimates, as it leans into AI partnerships and buybacks.
Salesforce has issued a revenue forecast for fiscal 2030 of more than $63 billion, topping analysts' estimates, the company said during its Dreamforce event with analysts and investors. Analysts polled by LSEG had expected the software vendor to reach annual sales of $59.2 billion by that time.
A pivotal Dreamforce
This year's Dreamforce lands at a pivotal moment for the company, which has been through a rocky year on concerns that artificial intelligence could hurt its business, but has rebounded of late. "There's certain moments in our industry where everything is changing, and this is that moment for enterprise," chief executive Marc Benioff said. The so-called SaaSpocalypse narrative, which gained traction in 2025, had punished the company and other software vendors as frontier models became more powerful; in its latest earnings report the company quieted sceptics with better-than-expected results and an uplifting forecast.
Results and the Anthropic bet
Profit was boosted by a $2.6 billion gain on strategic investments after the company bet on Anthropic, and the stock jumped almost 23%, its best performance since 2020. The company also announced Claudeforce, which lets organisations work with its data inside Anthropic's Claude, with up to 1,000 clients signed up for the beta. Executives promoted a new reasoning model called Koa, based on a model from Nvidia, and showed custom dashboards containing company data accessible in Claude.
Buybacks and Slack
As the stock fell this year, the company took advantage, having now bought back a cumulative $60 billion of its own shares, said chief operating and financial officer Robin Washington. Slack, the chat app acquired for $27.1 billion in 2021, has emerged as a hub for communicating with agents, according to president and chief revenue officer Alexa Vignone. Shares closed above $250. Benioff said the company had spent hundreds of millions of dollars on Anthropic stock, which will likely be worth tens of billions.
